Thiruvananthapuram: Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash Friday refuted the allegation that the United Democratic Front (UDF) government had allotted land to controversial businessman Vijay Mallya at throw away price.

“The land was allotted to Vijay Mallya as per the deal dated back to 1971,” the minister told reporters.

“The decision to allot the land at Kanjikode for Premier Breweries Limited was taken in 1971 when N.E. Balram was the Industries Minister,” he said.
