Munnar: Encroachments in the high range Munnar town in Idukki district will be brought to the notice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, C R Choudhary said here Saturday.

Choudhary, who visited the picturesque tourist spot said he would inform Prime Minister and Union Home Minister on whatever he had seen here.

The encroachers should be evicted, he said.

Recently, the BJP Kerala leadership had submitted a memorandum to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, on the issue of encroachments in Munnar, when he visited Kochi.

The memorandum submitted by BJP State President, Kummanam Rajasekharan, had stated that the situation in Munnar was similar to that of Uttarakhand and had sought the intervention of the National Disaster Management Authority in the matter.
