Left should support Rahul Gandhi: Satchidanandan

Kottayam: Instead of blaming,  Opposition parties including left parties should support Rahul Gandhi,  Malayalam poet-writer K Satchidanandan posted on Facebook.  For maintaining democratic unity,  the entire opposition should support Rahul Gandhi and  make him a strong leader as a future prime minister or an opposition leader.   This is  necessary to keep the value of democracy alive.

Left parties should soften their stand, and should highlight  national interest rather than the local interest.  Satchidanandan is of the opinion that even now it is not too late for left parties to rethink of their current position.  The poet did not hide his fear about senior CPM leader VS Achuthananthan and CPM’s party newspaper whose comments resembled BJP's to blame Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi is contesting from Wayanad because of the misinformation given by the state leaders of Congress, said Satchithanandan.  As a national leader Rahul should have resisted the pressure from others, otherwise his candidacy should have been announced before the start of LDF’s election campaign, the writer added.
