Karnataka border blockade takes two more lives

Mancheswaram :  Two more patients died on Sunday having been denied emergency medical attention in the on-going border blockade at Thalapadi.

Rudrappa (61), and Yuseph( 55) hailing from Ankadiparamb and Thuminad respectively had long been under treatment for heart ailment.

Nine people have died so far following the border blockade. Rudrappa, from the border village here, was taken to Mangaluru after his condition worsened.  

However, after being blocked at the border, he was later taken to Uppala hospital where he died.

One patient died at the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border after Karntaka police blocked ambulance at Kargekandi check post.

 Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Yedurappa said that the border would not be opened, and said there was no politics behind it.
