Thiruvananthapuram: CPIM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Sunday announced the decision of the party’s local committee in Kozhikode to expel Alan Shuhaib and Thaha Fasal over alleged Maoist links.
Talking to media, Kodiyeri said that CPM would not allow its members to work for another party.
Students were arrested from Pantheeramkavu in Kozhikode on November 1, 2019 and are now facing charges based on UAPA act for alleged Maoist links,
The CPM had conducted a party level investigation against the duo and found that both Alan and Thaha had Maoist links.
Reportedly, CPM Kozhikode district secretary P. Mohanan on Saturday had informed the party state committee of the local committee’s decision to expel the students.
