Democratic Party, one of the BJP-led NDA allies, demanded that action be taken against the CPI-M for "glorifying" China at its meetings.
The Center should initiate a probe into this, the party-state president George Sebastian said.
Sebastian said they adore China at the district party meetings despite its democratic freedom. "This is nothing but anti-national, and a case should be filed".
"The Center should examine if they are getting funding for praising China," he added.
Last week, Leader of Opposition V.D.Satheesan asked the CPI-M to spell out its policy on China as two of its top leaders have been speaking in different tones.
In a matter of a few days, veteran CPI(M) members S. Ramachandran Pillai and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had come out with divergent views on China, prompting Satheesan to ask whether the national interest of this country or that of China was more important to them
