Thiruvananthapuram: A book on environmental law was released by Kerala Cadre IAS Officer Dr. Raju Narayana Swamy. The book named ‘Environmental law: A 1, 2, 3... Primer for beginners’ was handed over to environmental activist C. R. Neelakandan by another prominent, Medha Patkar.

Being the thirtieth work of Narayana Swamy, the book is crafted in a way that it will be useful for beginners as well as for professionals including LLM students.

Some of his previous works include the Kerala Sahithya Academy Award-winner 'Shanthimanthram Muzhangunna Thazhvarayil' and the State Kunjunni Award-winner, 'Neelakurinji : Oru Vyazhavattathile Vasantham".

Despite from having worked as collector in almost five districts, he worked as the Director of Collegiate Education, Managing Director of Market Fed, the Commissioner of Agricultural Production and the Chairman of Central Coconut Development Board.

Narayana Swamy was awarded the Satyendra Dubey Memorial Award in 2018 by IIT Kanpur for his longstanding fight against corruption. He also received the Homi Bhabha Fellowship in Cyber Law.

Previously, he received the Leonardo da Vinci Fellowship, provided by by George Mason University in the United States for his research in intellectual property law.

Narayana Swamy has published more than 200 research papers in law and technology.

Also, he holds the rare record of being an IAS officer who has been a central election observer for thirty four times.
