Campus World: First newspaper in world to be edited, designed by students launched in Bahrain

Manama: With the intention to introduce school children to the world of news, making them aware of how newspapers are being made and what is the process and the work behind the news, Gulf Madhyamam conceived and published a children's newspaper-Campus World, the first in the world which is fully edited and designed by students. The newspaper was launched in Bahrain on Thursday.

Former MP and the President of the Bahrain Voluntary Work Association Hassan Bukammas released the newspaper at a function held at the Kerala Catholic Association Auditorium. Indian School Chairman, Prince Natarajan and Principal VR Palaniswami received the first copy.


'Campus World' aims to showcase students' creative talents before society. Students of Indian School Bahrain worked on publishing the newspaper, including news preparation, editing, etc.

The event was chaired by Gulf Madhyamam Executive Committee chairman Jamal Iringal. He presented Hassan Bukammas with a memento. Participation certificates for those students in the editorial team were distributed.

During the function, editorial team members Jyotsana K. Prashant and Zia Kishore shared their 'Campus World' experiences. Campus World School Editor Sreesadan, Student Editor Meenakshi Gopikannan, KCA General Secretary Vinu Christy, FIITJEE India Centre Coordinator Anirudha Baranwal, Ali Rashid Al Amin Company Sales and Marketing Manager SG Abraham and ViaCloud Corporate Account Manager Geo Mathew also spoke. Students' representative Leo Thomas Dominic did welcome while Gulf Madhyamam Bureau Chief Siju George paid the vote of thanks.

The resident manager of Gulf Madhyamam Jaleel Abdullah, School Board Members Saji Antony, Jayafar Maidani, NS Premalatha, Adv. Binu Mannil Varghese, Mohammad Khurshid Alam, MN Rajesh, Saji George, Ajaya Krishnan, Deepak Gopalakrishna, Indian School Riffa Campus Principal Pamela Xavier, Staff Representative Johnson K. Devasi, Gulf Mahyamam Executive Committee members EK Saleem, Saeed Ramadan Nadvi, M Abbas, MM Zubair and C Khalid were present at the event.
