New Delhi: Hours after rebutting allegations of corruption and policy paralysis against his government, former prime minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the latter's official residence here.

"Very happy to meet Dr. Manmohan Singh ji & welcome him back to 7 RCR (Race Course Road). We had a great meeting," tweeted Modi.

He also shared a photo of him welcoming Singh at his official residence.

The meeting between the two leaders came within days of former TRAI chairman Pradip Baijal alleging that Manmohan Singh had warned him of harm if he did not cooperate on the issue of allocation of 2G telecom licences.

Earlier in the day, Manmohan Singh rebutted allegations of corruption and policy paralysis against his UPA government, saying he never used public office to "enrich" himself or his family and friends.

The former prime minister's Congress party appeared to be unaware of what transpired at the Manmohan-Modi meeting and when asked as to what was discussed between the two, Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala told IANS: "We have asked Manmohan Singh's office about the details of the visit. When we get the information, we will share with everyone."
