Messaging app Signal has released new features in its beta update designed to give its users a 'WhatsApp-like' experience. The new update v5.3.1 brings in more features targeted at its new users.
Different chat wallpapers, animated stickers, lower data usage for calls, wallpapers for individual chats, are among the new features added to the app.
These features are intended towards giving a WhatsApp-like environment, which would make the shift from WhatsApp easier for the users. The app, along with Telegram, witnessed a surge of users after WhatsApp changed privacy policies leading to users looking for alternatives.
It is expected that Signal will release more updates in the future to counter the user-friendly experience offered by WhatsApp.
